This text is an amalgamation of three earlier texts. Several styles are included: Folk, Classical, Rock, Blues. 61 tracks available for free download. In the 2019 edition, the folk section note reading has been simplified and expanded. Various definitions and concepts throughout the book have been clarified.

Folk--Basic concepts such as strums, bass/strums, fingerpicks, as well as chords, time signatures, etc., are presented in an orderly manner. Other topics include, Note Reading in the First Position, Tablature Primer, Transposition, Travis Pick, Percussive Bass Strum, Alternate Tunings. Songs are recorded on the MP3 tracks.
Classical--Fundamental right and left hand techniques are presented along with contrapuntal note reading. The goal is to reach the basic levels while maintaining correct technique.
Late Sixties, Early Seventies Rock and Blues Method--This section has everything you wanted to know about rock guitar in the 70s but couldn't because you were born too late! Contains Pentatonic Major and Minor Modes, recorded licks, rock vamps, a section on how to learn from recorded music, slide guitar and more. In past editions of the Great Big Guitar Method, the Jazz Goodies section included the basics of jazz guitar; the more important elements of jazz study for the rock guitarist are now included in the rock section.
